What happens on our experiences?

Can you please arrive at least 15 minutes prior, so we can be good to go at the allocated set off time.

There will be a short briefing including some safety information.

Your visit should take approximately 1 hour 30 minutes. You will meet all the alpacas on the farm before we set off on the walk, allowing you time to observe the animals.  I will tell you about alpacas, where they are from, what they eat, about their place, and how they are farmed.

You will then be introduced to your alpaca, and will have some time to get familiar with them before we set off. There are ample opportunities for photos and if you wish they are taken for you along the way, and sent to you after your visit.

The farmland and forestry is on a gentle slope and we will walk over grass tracks.  Alpacas like to take their time, look around and take in their surroundings.

Children 9 to 12 years old can take part but a responsible adult must lead an alpaca.

Children 12 to 16 can lead an alpaca but must have a responsible adult with them.

The walks are not suitable for people with walking difficulties or young children but email me and we can discuss a farm visit.

For younger children under 9, please contact me to arrange a family visit.

How many people and alpacas will there be on my walk?

Alpacas are herd animals, so we walk with a minimum of 2 alpacas and a maximum of 6.

Sorry, but conditions are unsuitable in the meantime for wheelchair access due to uneven and soft ground and narrow access.

For security and safety reasons, please do not use your phone or cameras to take pictures during your visit. Photos are taken for you if wish, and then sent to you.

Alpacas are not used to dogs so we have a strict no dog policy on the farm or walk.

Clothing and Equipment

You are walking in the countryside where the terrain can be uneven in places and the grass wet. Some areas can be muddy in wet weather.

Our farm is on clay so sensible footwear is a must. Wellies in the winter, walking boots or trainers in summer and we strongly recommend long trousers. Gloves, scarves and hats on a cold day a must.

Clothing should be appropriate for the conditions but please avoid really bright colours or anything that might flap.
